I'm all new to creating a blog, so hopefully this turns out alright. From Jan 29 - Feb 5, myself and four friends will be skiing and boarding in Canada and Idaho, and we'd like to share our experiences. I'm following in the footsteps of two funny storytellers (PB and Gazelle) who unfortunately could not join us this year, so hopefully I can live up to their high standards. I will try to update the blog every evening with photos and tales of the day, though the call of the hot tub and a cold margarita at the end of the day may distract me from my blogging duties. :-)
Until Jan 29...
Nice intro. I think you are well on your way to setting a new standard for blogging within our group (and maybe just inherited the job for future trips). I am passing the mantle of dirty deeds onto you for this trip so you are responsible for making sure that FM does not get any fresh tracks and that there is at least some injury on the trip (it can be minor, I know that you guys can't possibly come up to my standards in so short a time). And remember "Trample the weak and hurdle the dead".
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know why my comment for yesterday did not post. Or did it and it disappeared? Could I be Blogging-challenged? Probably. So contrary to PB, I said to be SAFE. With PB not there, you probably will be ... wasn't PB the last one to be hurt? Oh that's right FM and Thong Man like to share the same path. Toe Pimp may need a new nickname for this trip, little scary TP and all boys on this trip ...
ReplyDeleteSo far, so good. We are on the road heading north. There's a slight drizzle, and the temp is 38F. Five guys were a little Costco- challenged as there was much head scratching about what aisles to go down and what food to buy, but we made it out alive. Before I get too car sick and hurl on the back of FM's head, I better sign off. P.s. There will be no double-fisted drinking this year to honor PB and his limp wrist.
ReplyDeleteRusty, your descriptions of this eclectic group are hilarious and I look forward to reading your blog.
ReplyDeleteIt's my 20th annual ladies ski weekend - we are ripping up the groomers and praying for snow. Should get a foot through tomorrow. Have fun and be safe.
Hope your first day was fantastic. I had at least seven cat-skiing runs at Kirkwood today - 18 inches of new (a surprise to everyone), with my lady friends (and Craig came along for a few too).
ReplyDeleteYep, today was excellent. Skied like a girl today. To bad you boys can't keep up. The snow was great, the company was charming and best of all, no injuries. OK, with all that out of the way, where is our blog????? We are waiting. Did you have an epic day with four feet of fresh and dropping off 25 ft pillows into mounds of pow? Like I would believe that. Hope all is going well.
ReplyDeleteHey Rust what do the new initials "DB" stand for, "Da Bitch"? You know the point of a blog is so you can post regular updates and not lose all your readers, or worse get attacked by them (case in point). Maybe you shoulda stuck with facebook ;) -LL (PS: j/k of course dude - now send some pics so I can be even more jealous)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure these powder hounds just got too tired to take time to post.
ReplyDeleteHey Steve. I know you are "off the grid", but your boss called, and she wants to set up a phone appointment for an interview, for that promotion you are going for. Of course, it needs to be this week. Call me.
ReplyDeleteLL,
ReplyDeleteHere are the official acronyms and nicknames:
FM = Follow Me = Bob
TM = Thong Man = Carl
DK = Dream Killer = Don
TP = Toe Pimp = Steve
DB = Dirt Bag = Rusty
And by the way, the blogs come infrequently because we are having too much damn fun! Case in point...headed to the hot tub right now with a rum and coke! AwwwYeahhh!!
-DB
p.s. Good work on 'Da Bitch' comment. All here got a good laugh out of that. Thankfully it hasn't stuck. I think the rest of 'em realize that since I have the blog power, they better not piss me off. :)
